Background:
Bradshaw LeRoux Disabled Placements was borne as a result of the joint vision of the managing members of Bradshaw LeRoux Consulting cc, Lesa Bradshaw and Nicky LeRoux. With 20 years collective experience in providing Competency Based and Psychometric assessment services to their clients, Lesa Bradshaw, who is in a wheelchair, recognized a growing need for this competency methodology to be applied to the context of recruiting People with a Disability.

Our Mission:
Bradshaw LeRoux Disabled Placements aims to assist clients with making intelligent selection decisions based on competence. We offer a holistic recruitment service with our primary focus being on the recruitment of competence – a mandate that is applied to all our applicants, whether they have a disability or not. Our focus is on the inherent requirements of the job i.e. Competence first, disability second. Thus we incorporate the optional use of our Competency Based Assessment tools to ensure that only competent candidates are placed, thereby supplying our clients with incumbents who add value, yet may happen to have a disability.


Our Approach:
Many companies are having difficulty reaching their Employment Equity targets with regard to People with a Disability, despite concerted efforts. Our aim is to simplify this process for our clients by providing continuous support through sourcing, assessing and presenting suitable applicants, some of whom will have a disability. Supporting services also include conducting environmental accessibility audits to remove common barriers, and offering motivational seminars and empowerment initiatives to successfully integrate people with a disability into the workplace.


Membership:
We are members of the Association of Personnel Services Organizations of South Africa (APSO), the Institute of People Management (IPM), and associated with the Quadriplegic Association of South Africa (QASA). Our psychometric assessors are registered with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
